Sustainability

Generate power on site. Use less fuel and reduce emissions.

Pinion CHP generates electricity and captures heat that would otherwise be wasted. Use both on your site to reduce fuel consumption, with the option to switch to biomethane.

Efficiency first

Get more useful energy from your fuel.

A Pinion CHP unit generates electricity and recovers heat for hot water, industrial processes or cooling. Using both outputs helps your site get more energy from the same fuel.

80%+

of fuel energy put to work with CHP, against around half for grid generation. The X-Series platform is rated at 91%.

The fuel path

Switch to biomethane.

Every X-Series unit is designed to run on biomethane without conversion hardware. Biomethane is made from organic waste, including farm waste, food waste and sewage. Supply and fuel costs will determine when switching makes sense for your site.

Hydrogen blending sits on our engineering roadmap, and our engines are specified with that future in mind.

to switch to biomethane. Every unit ships ready, with no conversion hardware.

Offsets and reporting

Track emissions. Plan your next steps.

Monitor energy generation and emissions to support your sustainability reporting. We can also help arrange verified carbon offsets for remaining emissions. See how a project works.

Understanding the trade-off

Lower emissions. Not zero emissions.

Natural-gas CHP still produces CO₂. Its benefit comes from using the electricity and recovered heat together. The emissions saving depends on your site’s demand, operating hours and the energy sources it replaces.

Up to 30%

CO₂ reduction against separate grid electricity and boiler heat, from day one, before any change of fuel.
